Frequently Asked Questions
Direct answers about ScoreGuard's pricing, CROA compliance, bureau coverage, and how it compares to DIY credit repair and traditional credit repair companies.
What is ScoreGuard?
ScoreGuard is a CROA-compliant credit-repair operating system that unifies credit monitoring, multi-bureau comparison, and dispute automation in one workspace. It helps you find inaccuracies on your credit reports, generate dispute letters, and track every round of disputes until they're resolved.
Is ScoreGuard CROA compliant?
Yes. Every dispute letter workflow in ScoreGuard includes a sign-off gate before anything is sent, in line with the Credit Repair Organizations Act (CROA), which regulates how credit repair services must operate.
How much does ScoreGuard cost?
ScoreGuard offers four personal plans: Audit at $29/mo, Repair at $69/mo, VIP at $119/mo, and Concierge at $179/mo, each unlocking more letter types, items per round, and support.
How is ScoreGuard different from DIY credit repair?
DIY credit repair means manually tracking each bureau, drafting your own dispute letters, and remembering follow-up deadlines. ScoreGuard automates the comparison across bureaus, generates the letters for you, and runs a structured Round Command (R1–R9) so nothing falls through the cracks.
How is ScoreGuard different from a traditional credit repair company?
Traditional credit repair companies do the work for you behind the scenes, often with limited visibility into what’s happening. ScoreGuard gives you a transparent, self-serve dashboard where you can see every dispute, every deadline, and every bureau response yourself, while still automating the repetitive parts.
Which credit bureaus does ScoreGuard work with?
ScoreGuard works across all three nationwide bureaus — Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. Its 3-Bureau Compare feature reads your tri-merge report and flags cross-bureau inconsistencies, like identity mismatches and account-balance differences, so you know exactly which items are worth disputing.
What is Round Command?
Round Command is ScoreGuard's system for tracking each round of disputes. It auto-activates your first round (R1) with your initial set of dispute items, then schedules and tracks rounds R1 through R9 with deadlines you can export to your calendar (.ics).
Do I need to know anything about credit law to use ScoreGuard?
No. ScoreGuard’s Goals feature offers preset goals like "Qualify for a mortgage" or "Remove collections," and its Action Plan translates your goal into specific steps, including relevant FCRA citations where applicable, so you don’t need prior credit-law knowledge.
Can ScoreGuard help me qualify for a mortgage?
"Qualify for a mortgage" is one of ScoreGuard’s built-in goal presets. Selecting it tailors your Action Plan toward the credit factors that most affect mortgage qualification.
How long does it take to see results with ScoreGuard?
Results depend on what's on your credit reports and how bureaus/creditors respond to disputes, which is outside ScoreGuard's control. ScoreGuard's Round Command tracks each round's deadlines so you always know where a dispute stands, typically with bureau responses required within 30 days under the FCRA.
Is my data secure with ScoreGuard?
Yes. Client documents are secured with two independent layers of encryption at rest — storage-level encryption from our hosting infrastructure and application-level encryption ScoreGuard applies with separately managed keys — and data in transit is protected with TLS. Access to production systems is restricted, logged, and reviewed. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Can I cancel my ScoreGuard plan at any time?
Yes. New subscribers can cancel within 5 business days of signing up for a full refund, and after that you can cancel anytime from your Billing page with no cancellation fees and no further charges once cancellation takes effect. See our Refund and Cancellation Policy for details.
Does ScoreGuard replace working directly with credit bureaus?
No. ScoreGuard organizes and automates the process of communicating with credit bureaus and creditors on your behalf, but the bureaus and creditors themselves make the final decisions on disputes, consistent with how credit reporting works under the FCRA.
What happens after a dispute round finishes?
ScoreGuard tracks the bureau's response for that round and updates your Action Plan. If items remain unresolved, they carry into the next round in the Round Command sequence (up to R9), so you have a clear, ongoing plan rather than a one-time attempt.
Who is ScoreGuard built for?
ScoreGuard is built for individuals actively working to repair or rebuild their credit, whether the goal is qualifying for a mortgage, removing collections, improving a utilization ratio, or general credit health, without needing to manage the process manually or hire a traditional credit repair company.
